At Associação Fikra in southern Brazil, we work with migrants and refugees, including those displaced by the 2024 Rio Grande do Sul floods. While economic integration is crucial, we've seen that mental health and psychological well-being are often overlooked in climate mobility discussions. Displacement, loss of home, and adapting to a new climate can cause deep trauma.
As youth leaders, how can we better integrate mental health support into climate adaptation and integration programs? What innovative approaches or community-led strategies have you seen work in your regions? Let's share and learn from each other!
