Africa has the capacity to revamp her health sector using her available natural resources. This can be done by carrying out thoroughly scientific research about traditional African health knowledge, proving it and putting it in writing. We are having plenty knowledgeable individuals on medicinal plants and practices of which over 90% have not recorded that information. This creates a high risk of losing that critical information and losing ourselves if no steps taken. It should be noted that as a continent, we spend a lot on importing finished drugs from overseas which hits our Balance of Payment now and then. I am dreaming of an African continent which can sustainably produce, scientifically prescribe and preserve her medicine. We should looked out for all those old men and women, sit down with them and we convince them about the benefits of putting their knowledge in writing. It's high time we develop ours.
