Applying to the Youth4Climate (Y4C) Call for Solutions 2026? You don’t have to do it alone.
To support applicants during the Call for Solutions application process, Youth4Climate in collaboration with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) offers personalised one-to-one mentoring with experienced volunteer experts from around the world. This service is designed to help you navigate the application process and templates with greater confidence and strengthen your climate solution proposal.
What the Support Service Offers
- One 45-minute personalised online session with a project management expert
- Technical guidance, aligned with the Call for Solutions guidelines and templates
- Expert advice to strengthen your workplan and budget
- Clarification of technical application requirements
We have assigned Online Volunteers (OVs) who are experts in project design, management and implementation. Our OVs are from different time zones and can speak over 10 languages (including English, French, Spanish and Portuguese).
Thematic and Technical Alignment
You will be matched with your mentor based on your project theme, technical needs and availability. When submitting your request, make sure that you indicate:
- Your thematic area
- The type of support you need (e.g. budgeting, workplan design, M&E ..)
- Language preference and time zone: make sure to check your selected mentors are speaking your preferred language and are in a conducive time zone
Submit your draft workplan and budget using the provided template. Submissions not using the template will not be accepted.

How to Access the Online Support Service
- Review the catalogue of online volunteers and select your top 3 choices.
- Get your drafted workplan and budget ready
- Fill in the registration form
- Make sure you have attached the drafted workplan and budget using the Call for Solutions template.
- We will assign you a mentor and share with you a booking link through which you can book your session with them.
- Once you receive the link, please make a booking and this will automatically create a Zoom or Google meet invite for your session with the mentor.
- Get ready for your session by familiarizing yourself with the Call for Solutions guidelines and preparing any questions you want your mentor to address in advance
Mentor allocation is coordinated centrally (by the Y4C team) to ensure thematic alignment, language compatibility, and time zone feasibility.
Applicants may book one mentoring session during the application period.

How to Prepare yourself for the session
To make the most of your session:
- Prepare specific questions ahead of the online session
- Ensure a stable internet connection
- Join the session 10 minutes early
📜Important Information
Online Volunteer mentors:
- Provide technical guidance but do not evaluate applications or provide advice on the substance of your project idea or concept of your proposal.
- Do not represent UNDP, Youth4Climate, or the Government of Italy
- Cannot guarantee funding outcomes
- Reserves the right to cancel the session without providing another one, if you are more than 10 minutes late. If you expect to be late or face an urgent or unavoidable situation, please inform your mentor by email at least 2 hours in advance.
Applicants remain responsible for ensuring their proposal aligns with the Call guidelines..
Timeline
Mentoring sessions will run from 16 March to 24 April 2026, during the application period.
- March 16: Bookings open
- March 17: Sessions start
- April 22: Last day of booking sessions
- April 24: Last day of all online sessions
April 30: Call for Solutions 2026 Closes

Thanks, Ruhama for your question, please note that you will have to prepare and share your workplan and budget when submitting the form. Also, the mentor will only have one session with you for 45min therefore we encourage you to prepare your questions before your session with your assigned mentor. Please make sure you read the call guidelines carefully and prepare your application accordingly.
