As a novice entrepreneur, do I already have to have a company before looking for financing for a specific project?
I recommend you have a clear idea and have tried it before looking for money. You dont always have to be legally incorporated-- that can come later, depending on the country you are in. Try to experiment early, and if you can design experiments and pilots that are free or cheap to learn as much as you can!
I missed joining today's session on "Introduction to Entrepreneurship + The 3 Pillars of Entrepreneurial Thinking". The reason is I received selection mail just 75 minutes before the start of the session. If I join all remaining sessions and complete all required tasks, would I be eligible to receive certificate?
For someone transitioning from core paleoclimate research toward science policy and science communication, with the goal of contributing more directly to climate action, what kind of pathway would you recommend? Are there particular trainings, courses, fellowships, policy experiences, or opportunities to work with climate-focused startups and organizations where scientific knowledge can be translated into practical solutions? I would especially be interested in understanding how to build the right skills and experiences to move from research into policy, implementation, and meaningful climate action.
For crisis-affected and displaced communities in the Sudano-Sahel who face frequent climate-induced disease outbreaks and paralyzed healthcare access, we deploy community-led emergency response networks powered by rapid open-source communication and local triage hubs.
@Fnu Pranshu A very compelling transition! Moving from fundamental climate research into science policy and implementation often benefits from three strategic bridges:
1. Multilateral Fellowship Programs: Look into policy fellowships like the UNFCCC Youth Fellowship, UN SDSN Youth networks, and regional climate innovation labs (such as OML or Aspire) that bridge academic research with governance mechanisms.
2. Translating Data into Policy Briefs: Practice converting complex climate datasets into concise, 2-page actionable policy briefs targeting non-technical stakeholders and municipal decision-makers.
3. Engaging with Grassroots & Startup Hubs: Partnering with youth-led community adaptation projects or climate-tech incubators allows you to pilot how empirical science directly solves operational bottlenecks on the ground.
In the context of climate mobility, how can we better measure the social integration of climate-displaced communities — beyond economic indicators — to capture resilience, belonging, and access to basic services?
At Associação Fikra in southern Brazil, we work with migrants and refugees, including those displaced by the 2024 Rio Grande do Sul floods. We're trying to understand what "successful integration" really means for people who have been uprooted by climate impacts.
I'd love to hear how others here approach this — especially from colleagues working in Africa, South Asia, and the Pacific. What indicators or community-led approaches have you seen work?

I like the Work on Climate Community for this: https://workonclimate.org/ (look at their slack community in particular)
Rebekah i-lab Thank you so much. I will have a look at it.
Rebekah i-lab Do they provide paid internships also? which are remote? I could not find their slack community though explored the website.

That is super helpful. Thank you so much.
You're very welcome! Wishing you immense success on this impactful journey. Always happy to connect and exchange insights!
